Christmas and stuff

There was a craft market at work on the 5th Dec and I decided to
try my hand at selling some things.
I didn't have a lot made so got to work and made the following;
I sold one tablemat, the 2 Christmas stockings, 1 Christmas tree decoration,
the little box and a wallhanging.  Not too bad.
It gave me some Christmas spending money.
My "Through the Trees Wallhanging" sold to a good friend
and is now hanging on the wall in her office so I can see it still.

I made 3 boxes for my quilting mates and
gave to them  full of goodies for Christmas.

Eastern Promise

I did a workshop back in June at WQC with Anna Williams.
Here is my quilt finally finished.
It has turned out very well.  A great class.

Festival of Quilts 2013

Taupo Symposium

Four of us went to Rotorua for the weekend and went across to
Taupo on Saturday to check out the quilts.  I was impressed
at the variety of quilts on display.
Here some that took my eye.
This one by Anna Williams.  The quilting was beautiful.

I had a really great weekend away with my 3 quilting friends and
we are already planning for the next Symposium.

Alice in Wonderland Challenge

At the WQC show in March a group called "The Mad 4"
was created.  This comprises of me and three quilting buddies.
It started off as a challenge where we would each provide a fat quarter of fabric
but grew into having a theme as well.
The theme is from "Alice in Wonderland"
Wendy supplied the first fat quarter which was actually 2 fat eights
and she also supplied the kiwiana fabric and specified that each of the
four challenges must contain a noticeable piece of it.
I chose the Cheshire cat from the cartoon "Alice in Wonderland"
to make this.

Eastern Promise workshop with Anna Williams

On the 8th and 9th June we had Anna Williams come and teach her Eastern Promise class.
The fabric washed and ready for class.
Getting the mitred corners sorted.
Looking good
Background fabric in place.
Celtic work done.
Playing around with some flowers in the corners.
Checking out on wall and yes it looks good!
Nearly as good as Anna's class samples.
 Karen's and mine
Dragica's, Sybil's, Lynn's and Jule's.
Another excellent class with the lovely Anna Williams.

Feathers Challenge

I haven't been doing much in the way of sewing lately.
Hopefully that is going to change as the weather gets cooler.
Here is my latest Halberg Group Challenge.
The theme was feathers.
"Heartfelt Feathers"
I decided to do a wholecloth quilt but didn't want to go with plain white or black.
I found this fat quarter.  My husband told me I was ripped off as the fabric had faded.
It is only 12x12 but was really pleased with my first attempt at feathers.
My free motion quilting has come a long way.  I never thought I would be able to do this
but with practice and good tuition it is achievable.

Stampin Up Cover

This cover was made to hold a Stampin Up mat and bits.

Made with fabric from the Stampin up range.
