Mystery Quilt 2012

This years mystery quilt for Dream Girls at Quilters Dream is a Medallion Quilt.
There is a choice of an applique centre or a pieced centre.

I chose to do the pieced block and I am
proud of myself for using my stash to create this great block

Pot Luck

Last Saturday I attended the WQC workshop with Natalie Murdoch.

These are the 2 quilts Natalie brought along to show what we
can make from the blocks.
Using roughly cut paper from old phone books, we started with
a strip of a colour as the theme and then randomly sewed other
strips either side.  I found it hard to go truly scrappy and used
blue as my feature colour and then tried to add others randomly.

My blocks arranged in chevron style.

  Arranged as diamonds.
Check out the WQC blog for more photos from the day.

Pieces of the Past

All the blocks are now completed for this block of the month that
I started in 2010.  I now have the applique border to do.

Tractor Ted

I quilted this cute panel at the weekend.

Green Gables

I pieced this quilt top in 2009.
On Thursday I took it along to Quilters Dream and
quilted it on the HQ18 Avanti.
Here it is after taking it off the machine.

A closer look at my quilting.
Completed.

Water

The latest Halberg Group Challenge is "Water"
I chose this one and was inspired by a photo I took of my dogs at Matarangi
last year.  I used silk photo fabric and free motion quilted the water.

Rose 12x12 Challenge

This months 12x12 challenge for WQC was "Rose"
I googled rose and came up with the Confederate Rose block.
